Happy Summer Everyone!!!!  It has been a pretty nice summer here in Bennington, VT!  We’ve had favorable weather for the most part – perfect for lounging by the pool. Now if we could only convince the powers that be at GZ that we could be just as productive doing our work lounging by the pool, instead of sitting at our desks in the office, we’d be all set!

We have been fairly busy this summer with the boring work-type stuff, but we didn’t let that stop us from having our most epic annual luau yet!  We decided that we needed to kick things up a notch this year, so we took it upon ourselves to plan an off campus adventure!  Don’t worry we got the blessing from the big boss men first.  And once they gave the thumbs up we were off! We chose to close up shop here at the office at noon one gorgeous afternoon and all truck it up to Lake Shaftsbury State Park for the festivities.  The only down side was that decorating the great outdoors is slightly more challenging than decorating the conference room.  However, we decided that a few select decorations, leis for everyone, and being at the lake more than made up for the lack of luau-y-ness. Larry was appointed the new grill master this year, and he served up burgers, hot dogs, ham steaks, and pineapple like a pro!  We also had a nice assortment of chips, fruit, veggies, salads, and of course some desserts to round out our delicious lunch.  There’s no better way to raise morale than by ditching work for an afternoon and hanging out lake-side with your co-workers and families eating tasty food!  We all had such a great time and hopefully we can turn this into our new annual tradition for the luau.

Rounding out our summer we had quite a few birthdays.  Jennifer’s birthday was celebrated in June and early July brought three more opportunities for cake, not to mention that there are already been two birthdays in August!  It has been a very tasty summer to say the least!
